Role profile
Knowledge Graph Engineer
Connect governed meaning to operational facts through scalable graph architectures, trustworthy pipelines and intuitive query experiences.
The mandate
Design and implement knowledge graph solutions that connect enterprise entities, events, documents and evidence using governed semantic structures. You will bridge ontology, data engineering and application use cases so connected knowledge becomes reliable and usable.
What you will own
- Design graph schemas and architectures aligned to enterprise ontology and use-case needs.
- Build ingestion, entity resolution, mapping and enrichment pipelines from heterogeneous sources.
- Implement provenance, temporal context, source authority and data-quality controls.
- Create performant graph queries, APIs and retrieval patterns for applications and AI.
- Support semantic search, multi-hop reasoning, impact analysis and GraphRAG patterns.
- Establish testing, observability and lifecycle practices for graph assets.
- Collaborate across ontology, data platform, security and product teams.
What you bring
- Hands-on experience with property graph or RDF graph technologies.
- Strong graph modeling and query skills using Cypher, SPARQL or comparable languages.
- Experience building reliable data pipelines in Python, SQL, Spark or equivalent technologies.
- Understanding of entity resolution, identity, lineage, provenance and temporal relationships.
- Ability to evaluate graph usefulness, performance and maintainability against real outcomes.
- Clear technical documentation and collaborative engineering habits.
Especially valuable
- Experience with Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, Stardog, GraphDB or comparable platforms.
- Cloud data-platform experience with Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or Azure services.
- Familiarity with RDF/OWL/SHACL, vector retrieval and hybrid graph-vector architectures.
- Experience exposing graph capabilities through APIs, agent tools or MCP-compatible services.
What success looks like
The graph answers consequential questions faster, exposes relationships that were previously hidden and retains traceability to authoritative meaning and evidence. It behaves like dependable infrastructure rather than a demonstration.
